Procedure[edit]
- To obtain a death certificate, get the death announcement first from the hospital.
- Then bring the body to the Preventive Medicine (morgue).
- Submit all the required documents.
- Pay all the required fees.

You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest UAE Mission in the country you are currently staying. The Consular Services Section will be the one who will process your request to obtain a Death Certificate.

Required Documents[edit]
Requirements for Nationals:
- Death announcement
- Original and copy of the deceaseds family book
- Original and copy of the deceaseds passport
- The death certificate in case the death was outside UAE
Requirements for Expatriates:
- Death announcement
- Original and copy of the deceaseds passport
- Approval letter from embassy to bury the body in the country or send outside the country
- Health insurance card (If the health card or the health insurance card are expired or not available, AED 1,000 fees are to be paid for embalming and coffin.)
