Please go to your neareast New Register House or the ScotlandsPeople Center. They would help you to get your birth certificate. The address of the location are under our Offices Locations and Contacts. And the extract will be send in 5 working days.
In writing and the extract will be sent within 10 working days. If you request the priority service the extract will be despatched within 1 working day by first class mail or air-mail.
Please use one of the following forms.
- if you are applying for an extract from the statutory birth or the Old Parish Registers. Use the form http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files2/family-records/su3.pdf
- if you are applying for an extract from the 1841 to 1911 census records. Use the form http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files2/family-records/su9.pdf
Apply by telephone using the Extract Ordering Service for post-1855 births. Telephone number: +44 131 314 4411. Open Monday to Friday 9:00 to 16:30. You will need to quote credit or debit card details.
List down the documents required for successfully completing the procedure. e.g. 1. Proof of child birth from the Hospital.

Same day if you reach their office before 13.00, if if you reach after 13.00 the certificate will be available tomorrow. The offices are normally open between 09.00 and 16:30 hours Monday to Friday
