Apply Online:

  1. To Replace your Driving Licence if Lost, Stolen, Defaced or Destroyed, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
  2. The applicant has to click “Start Now” to make the online application.
  3. Next the applicant has to answer the questionnaires and complete the application form will all the necessary details.
  4. Next the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Review the application and click “submit”
  6. Next the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested. The fee details are mentioned in “Fees” section of this page.
  7. After successful payment the applicant can download the receipt as a proof of payment.
  8. DVLA will send the applicant a confirmation email once he/she has applied.
  9. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  10. Once everything is accepted DVLA will send the replaced license through post.
  11. The entire process can be completed within 7 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply In-Person:

  1. To Replace your Driving Licence if Lost, Stolen, Defaced or Destroyed, the applicant has to approach the nearby Post Office that deals with DVLA photocard renewal or vehicle tax link
    Note: The applicant has to enter their Postcode and select the type of service to find nearby offices.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
