Procedure[edit]
- You can go to the Registrar's Office and search and request for copies of a death certificate. Make sure that you bring a valid identification in case the registry officer will need to verify your identity.
- When you submit your request at the Registry Office make sure that you have provided these important details which will make searching for the record easier:
- Correct name
- Date of death
- Pay for the certificate.
- You will be informed by the Registrar when the certificate will be ready.
If you are outside St. Kitts & Nevis
- Copies of certificates may be obtained by sending a signed letter of request to the Deputy Registrar General.
- The applicant should enclose documented proof of entitlement to request the certificate.
- The signature of the person who is applying for the certificate should be witnessed by a notary public, solicitor, counsellor, Justice of the Peace, etc.
- Enclose a Postal Order or Bank Draft issued in favour of the Registrar General in the amount of 5.00. The amount covers the cost of the certificate and postage.
- Make sure that you have included this important information in your request:
- Correct name
- Date of death
- Full address to which you would like the certificate to be mailed.
