Procedure[edit]

1.Making Payment in Partnering Banks

  • In this case, you will start by identifying a bank partnering with the water supply agencies / body in your area;
  • Thereafter go to any branch of the identified partnering bank and make payment to any of the cashiers at the counter of the bank;
  • After making payment, the cashier will issue a receipt to prove that you have made payment and that it has been received;

2.Making payments at cash offices in the water supply agencies

  • In this case, you will start by locating and going to a nearby cash office of the water supply body in your area,;
  • At the located cash office, pay money to any cashier and ensure that you receive a receipt from the cashier before leaving the counter;

3.Water bills can also be cleared online:

  • In this case, you are required to open up an account on the website of any with partnering online service providers;
  • After opening up the account, you log into your account and follow instructions for making payment for the bills which are given in your account;

1.Always clear your water bills to avoid disconnections;

2.Choose the most easier and appropriate mode of payment for you to clear your water bill;

3.Ensure that payment is made at the right place to avoid fraud;

4.Ensure that you receive a receipt for any payments made regardless of the form of payment

Need for the Document[edit]

Supply of water in Nigeria is a responsibility of Department of Water Supply under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources responsible for overall allocation of water and formulation of national water resources policy to ensure that there is sufficient water supply for agricultural, industrial, recreational, domestic and other uses in Nigeria. The ministry has decentralized its function of allocation of water to State Water Agencies (SWAs) situated in every state in the country. The State Water Agencies (SWAs) respond to the government of the state where they operate to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources as a whole.
