Nigeria - Apply for Film and Video Exhibitor License

Procedure[edit]

National Exhibitor
  • Purchase of a set of Forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.00.
  • The application to exhibit a film by a licensed exhibitor shall be accompanied by a valid exhibition agreement with a marketing plan.
  • Payment of Processing fee (N10, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Payment of License Fee (N150, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • The following documents must be attached:
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Certified True Copy of Particulars of Directors (Form CO7)
  • Certified True Copies of Memorandum and Articles of Association (film or movie exhibition must be one of the objects of the company).
  • Evidence of Payment.


Regional Exhibitor
  • Purchase of a set of Forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.00.
  • The application to exhibit a film by a licensed exhibitor shall be accompanied by a valid exhibition agreement with a marketing plan.
  • Applicant must be a Limited Liability Company.
  • Payment of Processing fee (N10, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Payment of License Fee (N100, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • The following documents must be attached:
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Certified True Copy of Particulars of Directors (Form CO7)
  • Certified True Copies of Memorandum and Articles of Association (film or movie exhibition must be one of the objects of the company).
  • Evidence of Payment.


Community Exhibitor
  • The Purchase of a set of Forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.00.
  • The application to exhibit a film by a licensed exhibitor shall be accompanied by a valid exhibition agreement with a marketing plan.
  • Applicant must be a Limited Liability Company.
  • Payment of Processing fee (N3, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Payment of License Fee (N10, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.

The following documents must be attached:

  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Certified True Copy of Particulars of Directors (Form CO7)
  • Certified True Copies of Memorandum and Articles of Association or Business Name document (film or movie exhibition must be one of the objects of the company or enterprise).
  • Evidence of Payment.

Eligibility[edit]

All Individuals or companies interested in the Nigerian Film and Video Exhibition industry and other related products are eligible provided they have registered with the National Film and Video Board.


Fees[edit]

National Exhibitors

To Purchase a set of forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.

  • Processing fee (N12, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Payment of Licensing Fee (N200, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.


Regional Exhibitors

To Purchase a set of forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500

  • Payment of Processing fee (N10, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Payment of License Fee (N100, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account
Community Exhibitors

To Purchase a set of forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.

  • Payment of Processing fee (N3, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Payment of License Fee (N10, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.


Validity[edit]

  • Valid for 2 years and renewal is required

You must be willing to provide exhibits films and video works in authorized exhibition premises across the country.


Required Information[edit]

The key information required is as follows:

1. Name of Applicant

2. Organization / Company.

3. Completed NFVCB application form (Form CO7).

4. Certificate of Incorporation with the National communication commission, if a company.

5. Certified true copy of memorandum & Articles of Association.

6. Tax Clearance Certificate

7. information on Distribution channel and Marketing strategy.

Need for the Document[edit]

National Exhibitor

A National Exhibitor is an exhibitor that is registered and licensed by the Board and operates at a national level i.e. exhibits films and video works in authorized exhibition premises across the country.

Regional Exhibitor

A Sub - Urban Exhibitor is an exhibitor that is registered and licensed by the Board and operates within a specified sub urban location i.e. exhibits films and video works within an authorized exhibition premises within any State.

Community Exhibitor

A Community Exhibitor is an exhibitor that is registered and licensed by the Board and operates within a specified community particularly those operating Viewing Centres i.e. to cater for the community needs for films and video works exhibition.
