Procedure[edit]

Procedures for registration of Major Cinemas:

Major Cinemas
  • The applicant must be a licensed National Exhibitor.
  • Purchase of a set of Forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.00.
  • Pay the registration fee of N150, 000.00 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account.
  • The applicant shall provide information as to the number of exhibition halls in the premises as each hall is considered as a distinct exhibition premises.
  • The premises must be certified by the Federal or State fire service as to the safety of the premises.
  • The applicant shall provide evidence to show that the premises is constructed and equipped to such standards as prescribed by law. e.g:
  • The premises has such means of escape as may be required by the Federal or State fire service.
  • The premises, if it forms part of a building is separated from the other part of the building by fire resisting partitions.
  • The premises is provided with adequate means of extinguishing fire.
  • The premises is equipped with furniture and apparatus arranged as to afford free access to persons in event of fire.
  • The premises is equipped with fittings that are as far as practicable fire resisting.
  • The premises has posted in large characters instructions as to actions to be taken in case of a fire.
  • The applicant must show that he is a fit and proper person to be granted a license.
MEDIUM CINEMA
  • The applicant must be a licensed City Exhibitor.
  • Purchase of a set of Forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.00.
  • Pay the registration fee of N100, 000.00 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account.
  • The applicant shall provide information as to the number of exhibition halls in the premises as each hall is considered as a distinct exhibition premises.
  • The premises must be certified by the Federal or State fire service as to the safety of the premises.
  • The applicant shall provide evidence to show that the premises is constructed and equipped to such standards as prescribed by law. e.g:
  • The premises has such means of escape as may be required by the Federal or State fire service.
  • The premises, if it forms part of a building is separated from the other part of the building by fire resisting partitions.
  • The premises is provided with adequate means of extinguishing fire.

  • The applicant must be a licensed Sub-urban Exhibitor.
  • Purchase of a set of Forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.00.
  • Pay the registration fee of N80, 000.00 (Eighty thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account.
  • The applicant shall provide information as to the number of exhibition halls in the premises as each hall is considered as a distinct exhibition premises.
  • The premises must be certified by the Federal or State fire service as to the safety of the premises.
  • The applicant shall provide evidence to show that the premises is constructed and equipped to such standards as prescribed by law. e.g:
  • The premises has such means of escape as may be required by the Federal or State fire service.
  • The premises, if it forms part of a building is separated from the other part of the building by fire resisting partitions.
  • The premises is provided with adequate means of extinguishing fire.

  • Pay the registration fee of N15, 000.00 (Fifteen thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account
  • The applicant shall provide information as to the number of exhibition halls in the premises as each hall is considered as a distinct exhibition premises.
  • The premises must be certified by the Federal or State fire service as to the safety of the premises.
  • The applicant shall provide evidence to show that the premises is constructed and equipped to such standards as prescribed by law. e.g:
  • The premises has such means of escape as may be required by the Federal or State fire service.
  • The premises, if it forms part of a building is separated from the other part of the building by fire resisting partitions.

  • Certified True Copy of Particulars of Directors (Form CO7)
  • Certified True Copies of Memorandum and Articles of Association (film or movie exhibition must be one of the objects of the company).
  • Evidence of Payment.
  • Evidence of N50 million bank/insurance Bond.
  • Proof of Payment of Processing fee (N12, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Proof Payment of Licensing Fee (N200, 000.00) at the Boards designated bank account.
  • Proof of branches in all the Regional headquarters

Eligibility[edit]

All Individuals or companies interested in the Nigerian Film and Video Exhibition premises and other related communication products are eligible provided they have registered with the National Film and Video Board.



Fees[edit]

Major Cinema

To Purchase a set of forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.

  • Pay the registration fee of N150, 000.00 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account.
Medium Cinema.

To Purchase a set of forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500

  • Pay the registration fee of N100, 000.00 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account.
Small Cinema.

To Purchase a set of forms from the Registration Unit of the Board N2500.

  • Pay the registration fee of N80, 000.00 (Eighty thousand naira) at the Boards designated Bank Account..
  • Please include your license code(license number) in the Depositor's name field of the bank depost slip when paying.
  • Scan and email your payment teller to services@nfvcb.gov.ng
  • Indicate your license code in the subject field of your email.
  • State the purpose of payment on the body of your email.

3. Completed NFVCB application form (Form CO7).

4. Certificate of Incorporation with the National communication commission, if a company.

5. Certified true copy of memorandum & Articles of Association.

A small cinema is any exhibition premise that is located in sub urban areas with low level of public infrastructure.

VIEWING CENTER

A viewing center is any exhibition premise located in the rural communities with poor level of public infrastructure.
