Importation of pets:

  1. Have your pet examined by a veterinarian: You will need to have your pet examined by a certified veterinarian. Some of the documents that you will need to present when your pet arrives in Morocco will be issued by your vet. Your vet will also be the one who will issue the pet passport.
  2. Prepare documents you will need to present when your pet arrives in Morocco:
    1. A Veterinary certificate stating that all necessary shots were administered to your pet during the last three months prior to its trip to Morocco.
    2. A health certificate to import dogs and cats filled out by your pet's Vet during the last 48 hours prior to your trip to Morocco.
    3. Note: Check if you will have to get the certificates attached authenticated by the Local Agriculture Department, before mailing or presenting them for certification at the Consulate General of Morocco.
  3. If you are outside Morocco : You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest embassy of Morocco in the country you are currently staying. The office may be able to provide you additional information about pet passports and import permits for pets.
  4. Before you make arrangements to transport your pet: Make sure that you have all the required documents, and got in touch with the authority responsible with the import/export of live animals in the country where your pet will be coming from and in Morocco. If you are thinking of flying in with your pet, you may also try and contact the airline company, they may be able to provide additional information about pet passports and how you can bring your pet abroad.
