Honduras - Register Birth of a Child Born Abroad

Procedure[edit]

  1. The parent must go to the nearest Consulate of Honduras and submit application to register the birth of the child.
  2. The form must be completely filled out and submitted along with all other required documents.
  3. The Honduran Consulate will issue a document that the child's parent must submit to the National Registry of Persons in Honduras.
  4. The document may be submitted personally or by another person acting on behalf of the applicant. Before presenting the document to the RNP, must revalidate the signature of the Consul or Consular Agent, at the True office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Honduras.

  • Completed application form.
  • Original birth certificate child
  • Photocopy of the Act
  • Two photographs, and
  • Photocopy of identity cards or passports of the parents.

A child born outside Honduras whose parents or parent is a citizen of Honduras.



Fees[edit]

For applications submitted in Washington D.C:

  • Birth Registration: U.S. $25.00

Parents or parent of the child who is a Honduran citizen by birth, must be the one to apply for the registration of the child to the National Registry of Persons (RNP)
