Procedure

Apply In Person:

1. To Obtain Another Type of Driver's License, the applicant has to approach the Department of Transport.
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Visit the office and submit the proof documents along with the application form to the respective officer.
7. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. If the applicant is qualified in all the tests, the officer will notify the applicant through email.
12. The applicant has to visit the office to collect the license.
13. The processing time for this procedure takes up to 15-20 days.

Required Documents

• Certificate of approval of theoretical and practical driving test, extended by motoring school authorized by the Ministry of the Interior.
• Original invoice issued by the authorized School of motoring.
• Valid driver's license
• Receipt of payment for transfer (Q.100.00).
• Eye exam issued by an optical clinic or active collegiate professional ophthalmologist, that complies with the requirements established by the Department of transit of the National Civil Police.
• Original invoice of the eye exam
• Identification document (DPI), original and in good condition.
• Photocopy of the identification document (DPI)
• Original ornamental ticket of the year.

Eligibility

• Class A License (Professional): Applicants must be at least 23 years old, and must have held a Class C or B license for at least 3 years. This type license will allow you to drive all kinds of vehicles.
• Class B License: Applicants must be at least 21 years old. Class B licenses are for driving light weight vehicles.

Note: Applicants must also make sure that he/she does not have any unpaid fines.
