England - Obtain a Disabled Parking Permit (Blue Badge)

Procedure[edit]

  1. Prepare the following before you start the application process: details of your current Blue Badge (if you have one), a digital or signed photo, your National Insurance number, proof of identification and proof of residency.
  2. To apply for a Blue Badge you may go [online] and answer questions about your disability, check your eligibility and fill in an application form to apply for or renew a Blue Badge.
  3. After you have completed your application, it will then be sent to your local council for a decision.

For questions about the Blue Badge scheme, contact your local council or the Initial Enquiry Support Service.


Turned down applications

If your application form a blue badge was turned down, your council should tell you why youre not eligible for a Blue Badge.

You can ask them to reconsider your case if you dont think all the important information you provided was taken into account.

You can also re-apply if your mobility problems become more serious.
