ProcedureEdit

  • A non-governmental organization (NGO) is a non-profit, voluntary citizens’ group that is organized on a local, national or international level.
  • All NGO’s must be registered by NGO Coordination Board in accordance with the NGO coordination Act.

Apply In-PersonEdit

  1. Visit the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board offices to obtain application forms to make the application. These forms can also be downloaded online by visiting the NGO Bureau Website.
  2. Once you obtain the Notification of Registered Office or Contact Address of an Organisation- Form-4.
  3. Submit the application forms and all required documents to the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board offices.
  4. On Completion of this process, it will take the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board will take one day to acknowledge the change of address
  5. A Letter confirming changes will be sent to the NGO within 3 days
  6. This application is done free of charge.

  1. Sec 20(3) of the Regulations requires that Applicants seeking to change their physical and postal addresses are required to fill Notification of Registered Office or Contact Address of an Organisation- Form-4 also known as the change of address notification.
  2. This is then filed with Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board upon which the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board updates the database to this effect.
  3. A Letter confirming changes will be sent to the NGO within 3 days

  • This application allows for any Non-Governmental Organization registered or exempted from registration changes the situation of its registered office or postal address, give notice of the change to the Non-Governmental Organizations Board.

  • The Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Board is a State Corporation established by the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Act (Cap 19) of 1990. The Board has the responsibility of regulating and enabling the NGO sector in Kenya.
  • The Board is currently under the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.
  • All NGO applications should be typed or filled in block letters.
  • All applications MUST contain ORIGINAL signatures of the officials and members as applicable.
  • All signatures must be originals, scanned copies will not be accepted
