Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a renewal of passport in Jamaica, you should visit the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) head office or regional offices if you are in Jamaica. You can view PICA’s location map and contact details via this link: Link
2. Go to the PICA office near you to obtain the passport renewal application form or download it electronically via PICA’s website: Link (Adult Passport RENEWAL Form (Simplified)) or directly via this link: Link
3. Fill the form accordingly and then obtain all the supporting required documents and attach then to the for.
4. Then visit PICA’s office and pay the application fee according to the service you wish to apply for i.e. normal service or expedited service.
5. You may also submit your application by a third party or by registered mail. Where your application is being submitted by a third party, a notarised consent letter along with a valid Identification of the third party is required.
6. Once you have paid the application fee, submit your application and all the required documents to passport processing offer at the service window for verification
7. The service office will confirm your application and issued an acknowledgement receipt with details of your application.
8. Then passport will be processed according to the service you applied for and avail for collection on the date and time mentioned in the acknowledgment receipt.
9. Visit the PICA’s office where you made you application, present the acknowledgment receipt for verification and you will be issued with your new passport.

Apply Online

1. To renew your passport online, visit PICA’s online portal for passport renewal via this link: Link
2. Click on “star new application” to be directed to the edibility page and then complete the eligibility questionnaire of yes or no answer to confirm if you are eligible to apply for online renewals and then click on “Check eligibility” and if you are cant apply via online portal, you will receive a notification stating that you are ineligible to apply via the online platform
3. If you are eligible for the online application, you will be directed to a new page where you will start making your application by entering the required information including your current passport number
4. Proceed and complete the online application form attaching all the required documents and photos and pay the application fee using the online option that will be provide to you at the payment section and submit your application
5. You will then receive a notification stating that your application is successfully submit and you can check you email for the application details
6. Your passport will be processed and you will be required to submit the old passport while collect the new passport

Note:

1. For applicants who are in Jamaica and submitting by registered mail, the package must be addressed to: “Director of Passport Services, Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency, 25 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10”
2. For applicants who are overseas and submitting by registered mail, the application must be addressed to the nearest Jamaican Embassy or Consulate or Mission

Instructions

• Renewals do not require personal appearance. However, in some instances an authorized officer may require the appearance of the applicant. A minor over 3 years of age applying for renewal is required to appear in person.
