Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for a permit to import restricted and banned goods, you should make your application to the Ministry of National Security (MNS). You can view the MNS contact details through this link: - MNS contacts.
  2. Obtain the application from the NMS website:- NMS website or download the form directly through this link: Application form.
  3. Complete the application form correctly.
  4. Gather all the required supporting documents as instructed in the application form and attach all the documents to the application form.
  5. Submit the application to the MNS at this address: NCB Towers, North Tower, 2 Oxford Kingston 5.
  6. The MNS relevant officials will verify your application to determine if it meets the merits to be approved for the import permit and then forward the application to the honorable minister for approval.
  7. The minister will assess the application and decide to approve or not.
  8. If approved you will be notified with the MNS through your contact details and you will be issued the import permit for restricted or banned goods.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Application form.
  • Copy of Notice of Detention (if detained).
  • Valid National Identification and any other relevant professional identification (Military, Constabulary, Fishing, etc).
  • First five (5) pages of the Firearm User Licence Booklet (including photograph), where applicable.
  • Sales invoice and/or receipt (with a description of item) made out to consignee.
  • Invoice or letter to establish a connection with Custodian and Consignee (where applicable).

  • Bulletproof Vests (properly known as Ballistic Vests).
  • Camouflage Clothing.
  • Camouflage Material.
  • Credit Card Scanning Equipment.
  • Crossbows.
  • Handcuffs.

  • Metal Detectors.
  • Motor Cycles over 700cc.
