ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person

  1. To get an export certification, you should make your application to the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) to submit your complete application form registration. Please view JAMPRO contact via this link: - JAMPRO contacts.
  2. Obtain export registration form JN1 from the JAMPRO office and complete it accordingly.
  3. Gather and prepare all the required supporting documents for your application and attach them to the complete registration form.
  4. Now, visit the JAMPRO office and pay the registration fee at the cashier.
  5. Upon payment submit the complete application including the payment receipt to the JAMPRO official at the Exporter Registration Unit service desk.
  6. The officer will verify if your application is correct and issue you an acknowledgment receipt.
  7. JAMPRO will then schedule an inspection date on your premises of operation to conduct due diligence regarding your registration request.
  8. On the scheduled date, a JAMPRO inspector will conduct a verification visit on your premises and forward the inspection report to JAMPRO authorities.
  9. Then JAMPRO will review the report and application to determine if you meet the standard requirements to be registered as an exporter.
  10. If they are satisfied that you meet the required standards, you will be added to the exporters' list and issued an exporter registration certificate or license.

Required DocumentsEdit

Individual Registration

  • Complete application form.
  • Taxpayer Registration Number.
  • Proof of Identification (passport, driver’s license, or National ID Card).
  • Passport-sized photograph.
  • Payment receipt.


Company Registration

  • Complete application form.
  • Taxpayer Registration Number.
  • Copy of Certificate of Incorporation.
  • Copy of Certificate of Business Name received from the Office of the Registrar of Companies.


Additional supporting documents

  • An authorization letter from the Plant Quarantine Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, stating that your packinghouse for fresh produce has been inspected and certified.
  • Proof of registration of your factory from the Bureau of Standards if the product you intend to export is a processed food.
  • Proof of certification of your factory from the Veterinary Services Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, for the exportation of aquaculture, inland, and marine products and by-products.
  • A list of machinery and equipment, a list of all categories of employees, and a monthly production plan for exporters of textile.


For the product in the following category, you must obtain the required license or approval from the relevant governing agency before JAMPRO can proceed with the export registration.

  • Fresh Agricultural Produce: a certified packaging facility is required.
  • Apicultural, Bee products or Animals: An approval or license from the Veterinary Services Division, Ministry of Agriculture is required.
  • Coffee products, Coconut, Cocoa, Spices(Pimento, Nutmeg, Ginger and Turmeric): An approval or license from the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA) is required.

EligibilityEdit

  • Registration is required only for Individuals or entities exporting goods on a commercial basis or for trade which will result in the generation of revenue.


FeesEdit

  • Initial registration fee for individual and companies: J$3500.
  • Annual renewal fees: J$3000.


ValidityEdit

  • The registration is valid for one year and subjected to renewals.

InstructionsEdit

JAMPRO reserves the right to place in a Provisional category or to delete from its List of Registered Exporters any entity that falls into any one of the following categories:

  • Its circumstances have so changed as to warrant such action.
  • Its security system is deemed to be inadequate.
  • A prohibited substance such as Ganja, cocaine, opium, etc. is found in its shipment.
  • An entity giving false information or found to be in breach of any export regulation.
  • An entity that exports or attempts to export a product requiring a Certificate of Jamaican Origin/ Exemption without such a certificate being issued by the Corporation.
  • An entity that fails to re-register after its annual registration has expired.
  • An entity which upon request by JAMPRO fails to:
    • Submit quarterly reports of its export shipments; Give such undertaking to provide such record as an authorized officer of JAMPRO may determine; Permit an authorized officer to inspect its operational, storage, and commercial facilities at such reasonable times and in such detail as seems to the authorized officer to be appropriate.
