- Go to the nearest Access PEI Centers.
- Present the required documents.
- Fill out forms. (An application form is available online. Check the link below.)
- Pass accomplished forms.
- Pay corresponding fees through accredited payment systems.
- Present valid IDs (and authorization) in claiming/receiving the certificate.

- Birth certificate of both parties
- Valid ID with photo
- Provincial health card (for PEI residents only)
- Certificate of Divorce with seal (for divorced individuals)
- Death certificate (for widowed individuals) issued by the Vital Statistics office from which the event happened

Need for the DocumentEdit
Planning to get married? Before you walk down the aisle, you have to obtain first a marriage license. A marriage license is a document issued by the church or state, allowing or authorizing a couple to marry. Furthermore, if granted with a license, it does not mean that you and your partner are already married. It means that you may get married.
Information which might helpEdit
The date and place of marriage should be provided by the couples, along with the name of the person presiding the ceremony. The officiant should be registered with Vital Statistics (applicable for both religious and civil weddings).
Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
