Procedure

Apply In-person:

1. To renew Fitness Certificate in Chhattisgarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office of his area.

3. Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application.
4. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for this procedure.
   
5. Make sure you have completed application form CFA.
   
6. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices
   
7. The applicant should bring in their vehicle for inspection.
   
8. Present the completed application forms in the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
   

Apply Online:

1. To Renew Vehicle Fitness Certificate (FC), the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
2. In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
3. The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
4. Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
5. The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
6. Please follow the steps to complete the application.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Renew Vehicle Fitness Certificate (FC), the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the process.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.

Eligibility

Vehicle owner is eligible to apply for renewal of Fitness Certificate for Transport Vehicle

Fees

RTO officials would provide fees information

Validity

• In case of Private vehicles the fitness certificates is valid for 15 years and there after renewed at every 5 years
  
• In case of Transport Vehicles the fitness certificate is issued for a new vehicle for 2 years and subsequently renewed every year

Need for the Document

• Fitness Certificate is an official document certifying that the holder’s vehicle is fit to drive at public places. As this certificate is a very important document in renewal of permits. The renewal of fitness certificate is highly regarded.
  
• The registration of vehicle is treated as valid only if the vehicle has valid certificate of fitness. Fitness certificate for a vehicle in Arunachal Pradesh is required to renew the current status of the vehicle
  
• The fitness is checked and certified by the Registering Authority
  
• Fitness certificate is issued to check the pollution caused by the emission of smoke from the vehicles, to maintain the vehicle in proper condition and to avoid accidents
