- To apply to help a refugee immigrate through sponsorship (Sponsorship Agreement Holder), the applicant will need to approach Refugee and Asylum Canada. Here is the contact Link
- The applicant will need to fill out an application package. Here is the link to download the forms Link
- The applicant will need to complete a mandatory Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP). The applicant will need to include the RSTP certificate with the application form. Find further information under the “Instructions” section of this page.
- The applicant will need to attach copies of documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant does not need to pay any fees for this procedure.
- Submit the completed application form along with the required documents by emailing them to the following email address: [email protected].
- Once the application has been submitted, the applicant will receive a submission acknowledgement email.
- If the application is approved, the applicant will receive a sponsorship agreement letter that the applicant will need to sign.
- The applicant will receive information about any other training they must undergo to become a sponsor.
- Once the applicant’s company becomes a sponsor they can decide who they wish to sponsor. Find information here Link

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant’s organization must have been incorporated legally for 2 years.
- The applicant’s organization must physically be in Canada.
- The applicant must be interested in sponsoring more than 5 refugees or families in a year.
- The applicant’s organization must have the resources to support the refugees Link

FeesEdit
The applicant does not have to pay any fees.
ValidityEdit
- The applicant can sponsor a refugee for 24 months.
- In a few cases, the applicant may support the refugee for 34 months.

The Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) needs to be completed by the signatory to the sponsorship agreement, such as the organization’s president, chief executive officer (CEO), another top executive, the organization’s main contact or any representative(s) the applicant want to submit sponsorship applications.
