Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Certificate for Export of Heat Treated Poultry Meat and Poultry Meat Products to the Republic of Korea (ROK), the applicant has to approach the Food Safety and Inspection Service U.S. Department of Agriculture. 2. An application form is available at the following Link
3. The applicant has to fill-in all the details in the form.
4. Applicant should make sure to attach all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) veterinarian will issue the certificate while exporting.

Eligibility

• Export product must be less than 30 months of age.
• Casings must be from animals killed in the United States.
• The source poultry were grown for 3 to 12 months before being slaughtered.

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.

Need for the Document

• Only after obtaining this certificate can a product is exported from the United States.
• Exporters from the United States should make sure that the items do not leave the country until the veterinarian has signed the certificate.

Information which might help

• Before sending qualified small intestine to Korea, exporters should contact the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service office at the US Embassy in Seoul at [email protected]. These items may have trouble clearing quarantine inspection.
