- To Get a Permit or License for Temporary Importation of Firearms and Ammunition by Non-immigrant Aliens, the applicant has to make the application to the U.S. Department of Justice (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) link

- The applicant has to download the application form from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Mail the completed form and the necessary documents to Federal Firearms Licensing Centre, the office address details are mentioned under the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- Once the application fee is processed, the Federal Firearms Licensing Centre (FFLC) will enter the application information into its database and commence a full review of the application.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant will get the license through the mail.
- The processing time will take approximately 30 days from the receipt of a properly completed application.
