- If the applicant wants to apply for pre-approval of corporate name (For Not-For-Profit Corporations), the applicant can contact corporation Canada. Here is the contact Link
- Click on the following link to make changes or update registered office information Link
- Click on the “Preapprove a corporate name” option.
- The applicant will need to log in to their ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development) account and click on “Continue to Sign-in”.
- If the applicant does not have an account follow these steps:
- Choose the preferred method to sign in i.e using a GCkey or a sign-in partner and click on sign in.
- On the right side of the login page, click on “Sign up”.
- The applicant will need to agree to the terms and conditions.
- The applicant will need to enter their username and click on “Continue”.
- Enter a password and click on “Continue”.
- The applicant will need to enter security questions and answers. Once this is done, click on “Continue” to create an account.
- The applicant will need to link their credentials to their ISED account.
- Once logged in, the applicant can click on the “Preapprove corporate name”.
- Enter all the details about the corporation and the new name. Submit the application from.
- The application will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.

- The applicant does not need to pay a fee for the pre-approval of the corporate name.
ValidityEdit
- Corporate name pre-approval is only valid for 90 days from the date on the Nuans name search report, not the date of the pre-approval.

- The applicant’s ISED account is automatically created, if they do not have an account, they can contact Corporations Canada for help creating an account.
- The applicant will need to make the changes within 15 days of the change or, in the case of a change to a director's address, within 15 days of being notified of the change.
