Apply Online:

  1. To apply for a Mortgage Broker License (Real Estate License), the applicant can approach the Financial and Consumer Service Commission. Here is the contact Link
  2. The applicant will need to complete a course before they can be licensed. Find information here Link
  3. The applicant will need to fill out an application form. Click on the following link to the online form Link
  4. If the applicant has an account they can log in. If the applicant does not have an account, follow these steps:
    • On the log-in page, click on the “New User” option.
    • The applicant will need to enter their email address and click on “Submit”.
    • The applicant will need to enter an invitation code sent to their email address.
    • Enter password and click on “Sign Up”.
    • The applicant will receive a pop-up confirmation that their account has been created. the applicant will also receive an email confirmation.
    • Once logged in, the applicant will need to enter their personal information.
    • Under account type, select the option that applies.
  5. The applicant will need to fill out the application form with all the relevant details.
  6. The applicant will need to send in information proving that they have completed an approved course.
  7. The applicant will need to attach copies of documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. The applicant will have to make a fee payment. Find further information under the “Fees” section of this page.
  9. The applicant will need to undergo a criminal record check.
  10. The application will be processed within a few weeks from the submission of the application.

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant must be 19 years of age or above.
  • The applicant must legally be allowed to work in Canada.
  • The applicant must be authorized to trade in mortgages on behalf of a brokerage.
  • The applicant can work only for one brokerage.
  • The applicant must demonstrate at least 24 months of experience as a licensed mortgage associate in the brokerage industry during the preceding 36-month period of the mortgage broker licence application date.
  • The applicant must complete the course.
  • The applicant must undergo a criminal record check.
