Transfer of permit is applicable when the permit holder dies or in case of age factor to the rightful legal heir.

  1. To Transfer Contract Carriage Auto Permit in Chandigarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
  2. Make sure you have completed application form for Transfer Contract Carriage Auto Permit. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees
  3. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
  4. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  5. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, Meter for fare, seating arrangements etc., will be carried by authorities.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Application for transfer of permit in Respect of contract carriage auto ( you can get it from respective RTO)
  • Legal heir certificate
  • Consent letter from other family members to transfer the permit in the name of applicant
  • Valid Permit
  • Registration Certificate, Fitness Certificate, Insurance Certificate.
  • Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
  • Death Certificate in relation to the permit holder.
  • Copy of the letter in which the death of the permit holder was intimated to the competent authority.
  • An affidavit to the effect that other members of the family do not have any objection for the transfer of the vehicle and the permit in respect thereof to the applicant, duly attested by a notary should be submitted.
  • Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
  • Age proof, Address proof
  • Legal heir certificate
  • Aadhaar card

ValidityEdit

  • Validity remains unchanged
  • Usually permit is valid for 5 years
  • Renewal of permit can be obtained with vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO.
  • The age of the vehicle also limits the validity

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Contract Carriage Autorickshaw Permit is needed for a Autorickshaw to carry passengers on a hire basis from one point to another.
  • One cannot operate his vehicle without this permit in the allowed route.
  • The need for transferring Contract Carriage Autorickshaw (Pucca) Permit arises with the demise of the owner of the permit. The legal heir has to apply for transfer of the permit.
  • Auto Rickshaw is a three wheeler vehicle constructed or adapted to carry maximum of three passengers excluding the driver for hire.
