Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Transfer of Vehicle Ownership,the applicant has to approach the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority Head Office in Ghana.
2. The contact and address details of the approved Vehicle Licensing Offices for each state in Ghana can be found in the following page. contact link
3. Obtain the necessary forms to be completed for Changing Vehicle Ownership from the concerned department and complete with required information under relevant sections.
4. Complete the application form(s) as required and attach the required documents with the completed form(s).
5. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
6. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Submit the form(s) and documents to the concerned department at the office for further verification processes.
8. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed with vehicle layoff or destroy.
9. Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes 5 days.
