Procedure

How to Apply:
In-Person:
All members of the public are encouraged to report to the police any crime or incident. If you have been the victim of crime, have witnessed a crime or would simply like to tell police that a crime has been committed, there are several ways to do it by

• Emergency number Dial 191(for police), Dial 193(for Ambulance) Dial 192(for fire brigade)
• Contact the nearest police station in person or police officer on patrol.
• Dial the landline for your local police station.
• Post the crime or incident on the police social medial page.

Note: emergency number can be used to report crime anonymously at your request, and your identity will not be disclosed.

Online application:

1. Visit the Ghana Police Service (GPS) website portal, click contact you will be redirected to the next page. Scroll down to file your report Contact
2. Fill out the feedback form by entering your message/report, name of the applicant, select reason of contact on the drop box, enter your email address and subject details.
3. Verify all the information are accurate, then click on “submit”.
4. Upon receiving the report form by the police department, the report will be verified and you will be contacted immediately via your email address and given further institution.

Required Documents

• Any documentation or item relating to the alleged report which can be of beneficial in the investigation process
• Identification document (ID card/valid passport) if requested by the police officer.

Instructions

Required Information

• Nature of the offence.
• Time of offence.
• Locality (i.e. plot number, street, H/No or any nearest structure).
• Identity of the suspect or physical description of the suspect.
• Any weapons used.
• Names of witnesses where possible.
