Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew Cattle Trader’s Licence in person, the applicant has to contact the Ministry of Food and Agriculture or Veterinary Service Directorate office or International Trade Administration office in Ghana Contact link or Contact link.
2. A renewal application form of a cattle trader’s licence shall be made in Form to the officer in the area in which the applicant intends to carry on business as a cattle trader.
3. Fill the application form and attach all the required documents for renewal as prescribed in the section of required documents in this procedure.
4. The previous application for renewal of a cattle trader’s licence should be returned to the officer for endorsement on it of the renewal of the licence which shall be in Form.
5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
6. The fees for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
7. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the veterinary office.
8. In renewing a cattle traders Licence under the cattle traders Act, the officer may make such amendments to the Licence and impose such new terms and conditions as it considers fit.
9. The officer shall, if satisfied as to the particulars shown in the Renewal application and if satisfied that all requirements of the Cattle traders Act and the regulations have been complied with, shall renew the Licence of the applicant for the next licensing year.

Required Documents

• Application form
• Proof that the applicant has never been convicted of an offense under the Cattle Traders Act and the Animal Diseases Act.
• Proof of payment of the renewal cattle trader’s fee.
• Two UN mounted photographs of the applicant, which shall be approximately 2½ inches by 2 inches in size.
• Licence Number (cattle trader’s Licence)

Eligibility

• Applicant should prove that he or she has been engaged satisfactorily in the business of a cattle trade to be eligible for renewal of a Licence.

Fees

• The fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.

Validity

• The license is valid for one year and renewable thereafter.

Instructions

• Not less than one month before the end of a licensing year, every holder of cattle trader’s Licence, who wants to renew his or her Licence shall apply to the officer in the prescribed manner accompanied by the prescribed fee and any other forms or documents that may be prescribed.
