ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Class C Dealership License or Permit in Ghana, the applicant must visit the National Communication Authority or Ministry of Communications. contact link.
  2. Applicant must go to the national communication office in Ghana and obtain the application form or download the application form from this link.
  3. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
  4. Applicants are required to enclose five (5) copies of their application, i.e. certified copies of the relevant supporting documents, in addition to the duly completed application forms in all respect and accompanied by a comprehensive business plan as explained below under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in a manila envelope addressed to the Executive Chairman, Botswana Telecommunications Authority, and should be submitted to the NCA head office either in person or via post. Any omission of these documents will render the application process incomplete.
  5. Upon receipt of the application file, the NCA receiving officer will verify, if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration by the NCA Registration and certificate Board.
  6. Applicants will be required to pay the application fee as mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page and obtain an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application.
  7. The application will be processed as per the information and documentation provided, that is why applicants are advised to provide sufficient information to enable the NCA to evaluate the business/company and make its decision.
  8. Notice of the decision (Approval, Deferral, or Rejection) for the application will be communicated to the client as pre preferable mode (in writing /phone/email/ in-person).
  9. The certificate will be granted if NCA certificate board is satisfied with the applicant’s ability to deliver on its proposed business plan.
  10. If approved, the applicant will be required to produce a proof of identity document and the acknowledgment slip, while collecting the certificate, at the NCA head office where the application was lodged.
  11. The Amateur Radio certificate shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the NCA Licensing board deems fit to impose in each case, and such terms and conditions or requirements shall be endorsed on the certificate.
  12. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 60 working days.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • A Dealership License is an Authorization that the NCA grants to an importer of Electronic Communications Equipment to import and sell type approved equipment on the Ghanaian market.
  • The NCA Dealership License   is required before any ICT product is imported, sold and used in the Ghanaian market. This is in accordance with section 3 (c) of the NCA Act, Act 769 of 2008.
