ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain a National social security fund card in person, the applicant has to approach the Social security and national insurance trust (SSNIT).
  2. Address and contact details can be found in the following link.
  3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
  4. The applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
  5. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  6. A fee for this procedure is free of charge.
  7. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the respective office.
  8. This application will be processed and the information will be verified by the NPA.
  9. If the verification is successful, The NSSF officer will take the applicant’s photo and thumb prints and record the applicant’s inform into the NSSF computer system, An NSSF Card will then be issued immediately.
  10. The Processing time for this procedure is 7 days.

EligibilityEdit

  • Employed persons of 16years and above but of 55years and below are eligible for the national social security fund card.



FeesEdit

  • A fee for this procedure is free of charge.



ValidityEdit

  • The membership card is valid until retirement i.e. attains 55 years of age and benefit can then be collected.
