Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Verification of Measuring Instruments in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Ghana standards Authority office (GSA) link.
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Read carefully through the application form as there contain different section.
4. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per as authority’s request.
6. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents (listed below) to the GRA regional and district office or the head office.
7. The respective office with accreditation in the field of metrology provides services for certification of measuring instruments fast, efficiently and with a competitive price. The respective office issue a Certificate of Approval based on the results of measurement tests conducted in our own and accredited testing laboratory.
8. Measurement instruments are thoroughly examined during the certification process to identify its measuring range and other metrological parameters. Measuring devices are checked for sensitivity and measures to determine the true value, errors and other features.
9. If this test result is positive, the instrument is a verified.
10. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.
