Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Transporter License in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Transport Office.

3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Fill out an application form, which can be obtained from their offices.
5. On the application form indicate the type and number of vehicles to be used.
6. On the form mention the particulars, type(s) and numbers of vehicles to be used.
7. Indicate the particulars of the construction, motive power and cargo capacity of every vehicle.
8. Fill out the total number of crew to be carried in every such ship.
9. Indicate the number of passengers every such ship is intended to carry.
10. On the form show the places between which the ship are intended to be navigated and the services to be provided by the ship.
11. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
12. The Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
13. Submit the completed form together with all other required documents to the Transport Licence Board.
14. Applications should be submitted at least three weeks before scheduled Board meeting.
15. The board may, with the prior approval or direction of Minister, grant the applicant an exclusive Licence authorizing that person to operate ships for carriage of goods or passengers in such area, over such routes or between such places as the board may decide.
16. The processing time for this procedure takes 2 weeks.

• Declaration Form
• Photo I.D and address proof issued by Government authority of Proprietor/Partner/Director(s)/Authorised Signatory
• Proof of possession of premises. (Sale deed/ Rent agreement/ Electricity bill, etc.)
• Partnership Deed/Self Declaration for Proprietorship/Memorandum & Articles of Association towards the constitution of the firm
• Additional documents(If any)

• Number of passengers every such ship is intended carry, places between which the ships are intended to be navigating.

Declarations particulars

• Full Name
• Address
• Nationality
• Status of applicant e.g. Director of owning corporation/Secretary of owing corporation/Individual/joint owner(s)

Need for the Document

• The Transport License Board may if they consider necessary, demand such other documents to verify the information given by the applicant as may deem fit and appropriate.
• The license would be used for all the vehicles that are being used for a single business.
