ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Applicant can obtain Study Visa by applying to the Comptroller-General of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) office contact link
  2. The Applicant has to approach the Ghana Immigration Service centre and the applicant can get their application form for study Visa.
  3. Fill out the application form and other relevant documents.
  4. Applicants are strongly advised to read the attached privacy policy and to complete and sign the Consent Form. Prior to submitting your application at the Ghana Embassy in your home country.
  5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  6. If a completed and signed consent form is not included with the application, the applicant application will be rejected, and will be obligated to be returned to the applicant.
  7. Pay Visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions in the application form fee schedule and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  8. Visit Ghana Embassy in your country of origin; make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed application forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and application fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied. Pay visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions on the study Guidelines from the Visa Office or website.
  9. Please note that when submitting your application form for the Study Permit , in person or by mail, visa fees must be paid in addition to service charge.
  10. If applicant needs to give your biometrics, the Embassy will collect your biometrics at the same time you submit your application.
  11. When applying at the Embassy, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of your application online.
  12. Study visas are processed within seven (7) working days of submission of applications.

  • Proof of residential address.
  • Copy of application filled form.
  • University admission letter.
  • Formal letter of application for student Visa
  • A copy of the letter of admission
  • A copy of the letter of acceptance
  • Copies of qualification documents
  • Acknowledgement of receipt of application;
  • Payment receipt
  • Admission letter from relevant institution in Kenya
  • Visa fee for Single entry
  • Evidence of financial support or letter of invitation from host in Ghana
  • Police Character/ Clearance Certificate of any Criminal Records
  • Vaccination Certificate against Yellow Fever

EligibilityEdit

  • To foreigner students coming to India to pursue regular and full time academic studies in India.
  • For foreigner students coming for Industrial training, summer project and internship.
  • Provisional student visa valid for six months for the students exploring admission or taking admission tests.
  • Applicant should possess the proof of admission to a full time regular academic course in a reputed/recognized educational institution in India and evidence of financial support.
  • The applicant should also possess a "No Objection Certificate" from the Ministry of Health in case of admission in medical or Para-medical course.
  • Spouse and dependent family members accompanying the applicant must apply for an Entry Visa (Not Tourist Visa. Its termination date will coincide with the period of the principal Visa holder.

  • A visa fee for student visa is different for all the countries. It ranges from $13 to $118.

  • Student visas are issued for up to five years, depending on the duration of the course.

InstructionsEdit

  • A student visa is official permission by a foreign government to live and study in that country. It typically comes in the form of a stamp that is inserted directly into your passport. All U.S. passport holders studying in Ghana must obtain a student visa prior to departure. This process can take two to three weeks or longer to complete. During this time, the consulate will have your actual passport while your visa is processed. Traveling internationally prior to the start of your study abroad program will interfere with your visa application process.
