ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. ToApply for Local Fish Health Inspection Certificatein Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.

  3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the MOFAD department.
  4. The applicant must fill up the application form as directed and submit it to the concerned authorities.
  5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  7. The applicant must provide all the required documents to the authorities for validation and also pay the requisite application fees.
  8. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
  9. Officers from the commissioner’s office will carry out inspections on the craft, fishing gear and other equipment to ensure that they comply with the required standards.
  10. If everything is in order they will continue to process the applicants’ application.
  11. After processing, the applicant will be issued with the certificate.
  12. A permit or license will be granted within 7 days.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant to be eligible should be engaging in fish activities in order to be issued with local Fish Health inspection Certificate.



FeesEdit

  • Application Fees: GHS.10,000
  • Certificate Fee: 25,000 GHS



ValidityEdit

  • A license issued under this Act is valid for one year and expire on 31 December every year.
