Apply In-Person:
- To Obtain Import Permit for Swine, the applicant must go to the Biosecurity of Authority office in Fiji. Contact Link
- The importer/shipper (applicant) can obtain the application form from the authorities in the Biosecurity office.
- Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the Biosecurity officer.
- If the animals are kept in Transit before reaching the destination country, then the application form for Live Animals in Transit must also be attached. Application Form
- The prescribed fee payment must be made and the receipt must be attached along with the application form.
- After submitting the application, the Biosecurity officer will inspect the animals, and then will verify the details given in the application form.
- After complete verification, the import permit for Swine will be issued to the applicant.
- The complete fee details to get the import permit for Swine is given in the “Fees” section of this page.
- The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
- NOTE: It should be noted that Swine must be imported to Fiji only from Australia excluding the Northern territory and areas of Queensland and Western Australia, north of 22-degree South latitude.

Required DocumentsEdit
- Dully filled Application Form.
- A statutory declaration form with ear tag number.
- Certificate from Government Veterinary Officer of the country of origin. The certification must be made on:
- That he/she examined each of such animals within 7 days of shipment and has found it to be free from clinical disease and ectoparasites.
- That the disease specified in the Fiji Laws have not existed in the state from which any such animal is exported during the period of 12 months immediately preceding the date of shipment.
- That each animal originates from a herd free of Brucella Suis Infection.
- That each animal has been treated on each of the 3 days prior to shipment with streptomycin by injection at the rate of 10 mg per kg body weight, or such other antibiotics as prescribed by the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji.
- That each animal has twice been dipped or sprayed with recognized acaricide at an interval of 4 days and that the latter dipping or spraying was within 48 hours of the time of shipment.
- That the animal is free of deceases during the 6 months immediately preceding shipment.
- The shipper should also attach the declaration sheet with kind, number, sex, and marks of brand or ear marks of all animals.
- If the animals are kept in Transit before reaching the destination country, then Application form for Live Animals in Transit is required. Application Form

- Other documents requested by the biosecurity officer while inspecting. (If applicable)
