Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To submit the Mortgage to Secure Current Account (Ship), the applicant must visit the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF). Contacts Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the MSAF office, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and then it should be submitted to the CEO – Chief Executive Officer in the MSAF.
5. The CEO in the MSAF office will verify the application form and then will update the details.
6. The fee details for the application will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
7. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the MSAF office.

• Lengths from fore part of stern, to the aft side of the head of the stern post/fore side of the rudder stock

• Main breadth to outside of plating
• Depth in hold from tonnage deck to ceiling amidships

• Now we (b)
• Convenant with the said (c)
• Mortgagee(s) (d)

TRANSFER OF MORTGAGE – BY INDIVIDUAL OR JOINT MORTGAGEES

• Full name(s) and address(es) of transferee(s) with their description in the case of individuals
• Name, address and description of witness

TRANSFER OF MORTGAGE - BY BODY CORPORATE

• Full name(s) and address(es) of transferee(s) with their description in the case of individuals.
• Signatures and description of witness, i.e., Director, Secretary, etc.,

DISCHARGE OF MORTGAGE- BY INDIVIDUAL OR JOINT MORTGAGEES

• Name, address and description of witness

DISCHARGE OF MORTGAGE – BY BODY CORPORATE

• Signatures and description of witnesses, i.e., Director, Secretary, etc, (as the case may be)
  

Need for the Document

If any changes are made in the Mortgages of the Ship, it should be intimated to the authorities in the MSAF department.
