Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Start Coffee Manufacturing Unit in Ethiopia, the applicant has to approach Ethiopian coffee and Tea authority contact link or the applicant should contact Ministry of agriculture location link
2. There you will be issued with application for Pulping Station license from the authority.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee of and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
6. This is followed by an inspection by the Board field Officers.
7. The Board field officers will inspect the application make recommendations on the application and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
8. Upon a successful approval, the Applicant is notified by E-mail or SMS.

Required Documents

• Identification Cards/ Passport and PIN Number of the applicant
• A certified copy of certificate of incorporation/registration;
• A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association/ constitution
• Copy of title deed or certificate of leasehold as proof of ownership land or proprietorship and a current certificate of search or other supporting documents.
• Names and address of Directors.
• Proof of Reliable source of clean water
• Proof of a minimum of 2 acres of coffee or 20,000kgs of cherry on an average of three years.
• Original copy of Power of Attorney in case of Importer
• Certificate of free sale, marketing authorization letter
• A self-declaration that there are no changes in earlier shred information
• NOC from Pollution Control Board
• Plan the layout of the premises
• Rent agreement in case of rented premises
• Affidavit of Applicant
• List of machines installed for manufacturing

Eligibility

• Any cooperative society, person, group or company who intends to Start Coffee Manufacturing Unit are eligible to make this application

Fees

• Fees to be paid as per the advice of the authority officer.

Validity

• The manufacturing license is valid for the period of one year.

Need for the Document

• A Coffee General Manufacturing may refer to a range of production, from parts assembly to high technology, but is most often used in reference to industrial production wherein raw materials are processed into finished goods on a massive scale. Manufacturing is the use of labour, machines and tools to make goods for sale or use.
• No person can operate a coffee manufacturing station unless he is the holder of a current license issued in respect thereof by the Board after consultation with the Director.
