Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew Commercial Pyrethrum Nursery Registration the applicant has to visit the Ministry of Agriculture in Ethiopia.location link
2. Application form for Renewing Pyrethrum nursery will be given by the authority office.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Submit the application form to the office and pay the application fee of 500birr and submit the receipt as a proof of payment.
6. This is followed by an inspection of applicant’s farm/facilities by the board field officers. A person shall not be issued with a certificate of registration as a nursery or a mother block operator unless an inspector—
   • Has visited and inspected the site and confirmed that it complies with the minimum requirements for a horticultural crop nursery; and
   • Is satisfied that the operator or the operator’s agent has adequate knowledge of nursery management and horticultural techniques in respect of horticultural crops to be grown as set out in the horticultural nursery requirements.
7. The Pyrethrum working group will make recommendations on the application and forward their report to Board for the final Board approval.
8. Upon a successful approval the Pyrethrum nursery certificate applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay a license fee to the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
9. Once the Renewing processing is done the Pyrethrum Nursery Certificates is issued to the applicant by the authority.

• returns of pyrethrum stock dealt with in the previous year
• Identification Cards/ Passport Number of the applicant
• Suitable land site for establishment of a nursery
• Proof of a reliable supply of clean water
• Proof of accessibility of nursery site for inspection and materials transportation
• A tax compliance certificate from Ethiopian Revenue Authority
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Authority from time to time

Eligibility

Any person, cooperative society, group or company with a valid Commercial Pyrethrum Nursery registration certificate can apply for renewals.

Fees

• Application fee is 500birr.
• Inspection for nursery 1000birr.
  

Validity

The validity of the period of one year.

A commercial pyrethrum nursery certificate authorizes the holder to operate a horticultural crop nursery.
This is a certificate issued to a grower who want to raise pyrethrum planting materials (seedlings) for own planting or for sale for commercial gain. Therefore, dealers need to renew their certificates to continue with operations
