Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To renew Registration of a coconut nursery the applicant has to approach Ministry of Agriculture Ethiopia contact link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the authorized officer.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Attach the required documents to the application form and submit it to the relevant authority.
6. After successful submission of application form the applicant required to pay the prescribed fee as per the advice of the authority officer and submit the receipt as the proof of the payment.
7. This is followed by an inspection of applicant’s farm/facilities by the Board field Officers. A person shall not be issued with a certificate of registration as a nursery operator unless an inspector—
   • Has visited and inspected the site and confirmed that it complies with the minimum requirements for a coconut crop nursery; and
   • Is satisfied that the operator or the operator’s agent has adequate knowledge of nursery management and horticultural techniques in respect of the coconut crop to be grown as set out in the coconut nursery requirements.
8. After investigations the board’s field offices will submit their findings to the county Nuts and oil crops working group.
9. The Nuts and oil crops working group will make recommendations on the application and forward their report to Board Headquarters for the final Board approval.
10. Upon a successful approval the Coconut Nursery Certificate applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay a license fee to the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment. The license fee is based on the turnover of crop expected. This will be communicated by the board officers.
11. Once the license processing is done the Renewal Coconut Nursery Certificate is posted to field offices for collection by the applicant.

• Copy of current valid coconut nursery registration certificate
• returns of coconut seedlings with in the previous year
• A certified copy of certificate of incorporation/registration;
• A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association/ constitution
• Copy of title deed or certificate of leasehold as proof of ownership land or proprietorship and a current certificate of search or other supporting documents.
• Names and address of Directors.
• Proof of Reliable source of clean water
• Proof accessibility of nursery site for inspection and materials transportation
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Authority from time to time

Eligibility

• Any person, cooperative society, group or company wishing to start a coconut nursery can apply for the renewal of nursery certificate.

Fees

• Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.

Validity

• The certificate is valid for a period of one year.
