Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application for obtaining License to Produce, Export or Import Controlled Substances (Industrial Chemicals, Pesticides, Fertilizers and Drugs) the applicant has to approach Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change location link
2. Applicant has to get the application form from the respective office.
3. Applicant must provide all necessary information in the application form.
4. Make sure you have all the documents mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting the application form.
6. Fee for this procedure is given the “Fees” section of this procedure.
7. Once the verification of the document is done the authority will issue the license in 14 days.
8. The applicant is intimated to collect the license once it is ready by receiving SMS or E- mail or you can directly contact the office by the contact details given in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.

Eligibility

• Any person intending to produce, export or import controlled substances, can apply in Ethiopia.

Fees

• Application for license to produce controlled substance is 15,000birr.
• Application to export controlled substance is 7,500birr.
• Application for a license to import controlled substance is 15,000brr.

Validity

• Validity for the license is one year.
