Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain Certificate of Registration of Real Estate has to approach Ministry of Urban and Development and Construction location link
2. Get the application form from the respective office.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Applicant has to attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request and submit the payment receipt as a proof of payment.
7. If all the procedures mentioned above are followed properly, applicant can get their certificate within the 46weeks.

• Power of attorney. If there are no formal requirements for the content, power of attorney must at least contain the following:
  • Full address of the registered or principal office.
  • Full address of place of business
  • List of nationality and other directorships of companies
  • A certified copy of the charter.
  • A copy of subject’s identification
  • Statues or memorandum and articles of association of the company.
  • Full address of the registered or principal office of the company.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a real estate agent certificate of registration, you must

• Be 18 years or over
• Pass the required local authority taxes (if any)
• The person concerned are real estate owners
  

If you are not a Kenyan citizen or permanent resident, you need to

• Hold a certified copy of your passport
• Have a visa that allows you to work.
  

Fees

Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.

Validity

Validity for this certificate is for 1 year.
