Apply In-Person:

  1. Application for obtaining a Death certificate in Ethiopia is available in the Ministry of Justice, Ethiopia contact link
  2. Applicant must enter all necessary information in the application form.
  3. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing the procedure.
  4. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
  6. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the certificate will be provided within 3 days.
  7. Applicant can get their certificate by visiting the office or via post.
  8. If there is no update provided by the office regarding the certificate, the applicant can visit the office to know details of their application.
