Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Justice.
2. The applicant has to visit the office with the request letter.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
8. There is no fee for Obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate
9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
10. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
11. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
12. The applicant has to visit the office to get the clearance certificate.
13. This entire process can be completed within 15 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Instructions

• Residents: Apply in person to the Director General De Seguridad Nacional, Avenida De La Independencia Malabo.
• Non-residents: Contact the embassy of Equatorial Guinea in your country of residence to obtain a certificate.
• If your country of citizenship has a reciprocal agreement with Equatorial Guinea, a police certificate can be issued, if it doesnt, a certificate cannot be provided.

Certificate of criminal record lists an individuals criminal and traffic court outcomes and pending charges that are deemed disclosable at the time of application.

You are required to certify that the personal information you have provided is correct. If it is subsequently discovered, for example as a result of a check of police records, that you have provided false or misleading information, or omitted to provide information that resulted in the application being false or misleading, you will have committed an offence.
