Procedure

• Issue a police statement that the passport is lost
• Visit your Ministry of Interior's Travel Documents, Immigration and Nationality Administration (TDINA) bureau
• Fill the machine-readable application no. 29 with the requested information
• Present the form along with the required documents to the responsible officer
• Pay the fee
• You will receive the passport three working days after submitting the application.

Required Documents

1. A signed police statement that the passport is lost.
2. Valid Egyptian National ID (for citizens over 16 years of age)
3. Birth Certificate (showing national ID number for children less than 16 years of age)
4. Evidence of education enrollment (for students)
5. Education Certificate
6. 4 Passport photos (size 4x6, white background)
7. Military Status Certificate

• Original documents should be brought, along with clear photocopies. The original documents will be returned to you after reviewing them.

Eligibility

The Egyptian Machine-Readable Passport (MPR) is issued to Egyptian Citizens for a period of 7 years. The holder of the passport should apply in person.

Fees

183 EGP (one hundred and eighty-three Egyptian pounds)

Validity

Egyptian passports are valid for seven years for adults, and are issued for lesser periods for school or college students.

1. Full Name (in Arabic and English Languages)
2. Date of Birth
3. Place of Birth
4. Religion
5. Education level and its date
6. Job
7. Address
8. Home phone number
9. Mobile phone number
10. Marital Status (and spouse name, if applicable)
11. National ID number
12. Previous passport number
13. References

Need for the Document

Egyptian passports are issued to nationals of Egypt for the purpose of international travel. Besides serving as a proof of Egyptian citizenship, they facilitate the process of securing assistance from Egyptian consular officials abroad if needed.

In case your passport was stolen or lost, you must issue a signed police statement that the passport is lost.

Information which might help

Please note that whoever holds more than one valid passport is subjected be punished by imprisonment for a time no less than three months and no more than one year, and/or paying a fine of no less than 1,000 EGP and no more than 5,000 EGP.
