Apply In-Person:

  1. To Renewal Registration of Community Based Organization in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Social Solidarity link
  2. Applicants must obtain the application form from the relevant department to Renewal of Registration of Community Based Organization.
  3. Applicants should read carefully the application form, as all the details must be filled in accurately for the form to be considered complete. The form will ask for basic information about their organization, including its name and address, the names and titles of the members, and a description of its activities.
  4. The applicant must gather the necessary documents for their Community Based Organization, such as a copy of the organization's constitution, copies of the identification documents of all the members, a certificate of incorporation and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  5. Applicants should attach photocopies of the necessary documents to the application form before submitting it at the office.
  6. Applicants should submit the form to the relevant government department, which could be the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, or the Ministry of Justice, depending on the type of organization.
  7. Applicants should wait for the renewal registration to be approved, which can take up to six months.
  8. During this time, the government will review all the documents, and may also conduct a site visit to assess the organization's operations.
  9. Once the application is approved, the applicant will be notified through their contact details, and they must pay the prescribed Renewal Registration of Community Based Organization fees and annual fees within three to four weeks.
  10. Upon payment, a renewal Registration of Community Based Organization will be issued to the applicant, thereby renewing the existing registration.

  • In Egypt, any non-governmental organization, non-profit association, or community-based organization that is based that was formed for a charitable purpose and has been registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity is eligible to renew its registration.

  • The CBO should submit an application to the Ministry of Social Solidarity, accompanied by the necessary documents.
  • The Ministry reviews the application and the documents and may require additional documents or information.
  • Once the application and documents are accepted, the Ministry issues a registration certificate and a registration number.
  • The CBO is then required to register with the local governorate for taxation purposes.
  • The CBO must also register with the Ministry of Justice to obtain legal status.
  • The CBO is then required to register with the National Authority for Social Insurance to be eligible for social insurance benefits.
  • Finally, the CBO must register with the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones to obtain a license to receive foreign funding.  Once the registration process is complete, the CBO is legally authorized to operate in Egypt.
