Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew a business license in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Small and Medium Contact link
2. Applicants must obtain the application form for Renew Business Name Registration Certificate from the MOF department.
3. The applicant must make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful, and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
4. Applicants should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Submit the completed application form and all the attachments in person to the MOF office in the applicant’s locality.
7. The RGD officer-in-charge shall examine, in the applicant’s presence, that his/her application form has been duly completed. Insist on this.
8. The date of collection of the business license shall be written on applicant's payment receipt.
9. The MOF Office shall inform applicants in writing if there are any queries with his/her application.
10. After that, applicants must pay the application fee.
11. After verifying the application form, the applicant will be provided with the business Certificate.
12. With the fee receipt, the license card must be printed in the Printing office.
13. The processing time for this procedure takes 1-2 weeks.

Required Documents

• Completed Application Form.
• Copy of Certificate of Incorporation for a company or registration certificate in case of individuals or partnership applicants.
• Certified copies of Form 2, and copies of share certificates of the company directors and shareholders.
• Proof of availability of business premises (written undertaking lease instead of agreement or title deed).
• Certified copies of valid ID, and passport for non-citizen Directors and Shareholders
• Certified copies of valid work and residence permits for non-citizen managers.
• A covering letter explaining how the business would operate and provide an itemized list of goods or services.
• Satisfactory Physical Planners report for zoning of the plot.
• Satisfactory Environmental Health report for the business premises from District Council Health Inspectors
• Drug and Regulatory Inspection report in case of Pharmaceutical Products and Pharmacy License (Ministry of Health Quarters)
• Clearance letter from Bureau of Standards (BOBS) in case of filing station or of a Liquid Petroleum Gas seller

Need for the Document

• The business license should be renewed within four months after the expiry of the budget year in which the license has been issued or renewed upon payment of the appropriate fee, the business license should not, in any way, be put in use.
