Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Registration and Control of Pesticide in person, the applicant has to approach the Agricultural Pesticides Committee Contact link
2. Then, the applicant can get their application form from the relevant department.
3. Read through the application form carefully as it contains different sections.
4. Make sure that his/she have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.
6. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents to the APC office for verification and processing.
7. The APC will dispatch an inspector to the facility premises for inspection to determine if Good Disposal Practice and Good Transportation Practice during storage and dispatch and disposal of product is practice.
8. Present the sample for verification and test to Pesticide Central Laboratory to identify the pesticide chemical and physical properties, upon which the registration is based, it must pass all the experimental phases and shows acceptable efficacy against the targeted pest before it is accepted to be used.
9. In case the pesticide passes the experimental phases and meets the technical criteria, a recommendation notice for the results is issued in accordance with the experiments results and its approval by the competent research laboratory or institution. The recommendation notice should be signed by the person in charge of experimentation at the competent institution, submitted to the committee and authorized by its secretary.
10. The Agricultural Pesticides Committee issues its approval of registering the pesticide after the registration file and the pesticide dossier is judged according to form (2) attached to the Ministerial Decree No. 662 of 2008. Prior to this, the committee should be informed with the results of judgment and should approve as per article 9.
11. The registration certificate is issued in three copies; one given to the applicant, one kept in the Committee Secretariat and the third sent to the Pesticide Central Laboratory.
12. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is taken 1 month.

• Any applicant who is not residing in Egypt- can Appoint local agent.
• Incomplete application shall be rejected
• The label must indicate what type of pesticide the product is or what pests it will control.
• The ingredient statement must include both the active and inert ingredients in the product.
• indicate the products toxicity from a single dose.
• All pesticide labels must have a section to let you know how to properly store and dispose of the product

• These dates may be mentioned separately on the top of the package.

• Storage instructions or temperature
• Full Business name
• Valid identity proof
• Citizenship
• Present Address
• Occupation

• Emergency contact person.

Need for the Document

• Registration and control of Pesticide is an important legal requirement all over the world. Every government has an obligation to ensure the safety of its citizens, animals, plants and the environment. The primary purpose of using pesticides is to control pests in crops and animals to reduce yield losses. The regulations on pesticides in Egypt were governed by the provisions of the Pesticides Control Act of the East African Community.
