Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Private Medical Institution Licence in person, the applicant has to approach the Egyptian Nursing Journal.
2. Address and contact details can be found in the following Contact link
3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Fill in the application form correctly and attach all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below.
5. Application fee details shall be provided by the concerned licensing officer.
6. Then submit the completed application form, all the required documents, and the payment receipt to the ENJ Office for processing of the registration application.
7. The ENJ office will go through the application forms, professional documents, and certificates to determine their authenticity and if they meet the set requirements.
8. Once the application is verified, inspection officers from the Egypt ENJ office and Dentists Council will visit the proposed health institution premises to carry out an inspection to determine if the health institution meets the required standard for registration.
9. The inspection team will then write an inspection report and submit the report to the council for evaluation and decision-making.
10. The council will deliberate on the inspection findings and where the applicant satisfies the Council that the institution meets the requirements for registration, the Council shall register the facility as an approved health institution.
11. Then the ENJ office will enter the data of the newly registered health facility in their system and generate the registration number of the facility.
12. Then the authority will contact the applicant to collect the medical Institutions Registration Certificate in person within a minimum of two weeks.
13. The applicant will be required to produce a proof of identity when collecting the medical Institutions Registration Certificate.
14. The application is processed within a minimum of two weeks.

• Copies of degree certificates/diplomas.
• Certificates of registration from respective Regulatory Bodies.

Instructions

The person or organization should have:

• Company or Business Registration Certificate
• Certified copies of Professional Certificates of all Health Professionals working therein including licenses from their respective Regulatory Authorities.
• Approves Building Architectural Plans for hospitals and nursing homes.
• The Hospitals, Maternity & Nursing Homes must have a holding room for dead bodies or mortuary
• All in-patient facilities must have a clearly defined method of waste disposal and management systems in place including incinerators, placenta pits, etc.
• The facility should be inspected by the County Director of Health or County Health Management Team or Joint Board and Council Inspection Team.
• It may be a requirement from other Health Regulatory Authorities to obtain their licenses for other facilities: e.g. Laboratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, X-ray Services, etc.
• The Proprietor/Administrator/Director must ensure that: -
• All payments are paid in full as per the category.
• Licenses are up to date.
• Health Professionals working therein are registered and licensed by their respective Boards/Councils.

• Give full names and registration number of the medical / dental practitioner or oral health officer who shall be in-charge of the health institution
• Give full details of professional qualifications of the person named above
• State work experience of the person named at paragraph
• Give full names and professional qualifications of any other person(s), identified by your institution to undertake patient health care at the institution (e.g., clinical officers, nurses, oral health officers, laboratory technicians, x-ray staff, doctors, technicians, pharmaceutical technicians, etc.)

Need for the Document

• A Medical institution needs to be registered with the Egypt medical practitioners and dentist council in order to be licensed to carry out its operation in Egypt.
• Doctors and dentists aspiring to practice in Egypt must comply with the statutory requirements for registration and licensing. Failure to obtain the necessary documentations constitutes an offence under section 22 under the Act.
