Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Sugar Export License is done in person by visiting the General Organization for Export & Import Control Contact link
2. Visit the office and obtain an application form for Sugar Export License as applicable to the applicant class of license from the relevant department.
3. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
4. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
5. Complete the application form with appropriate details and required information as asked with respect to the applicant’s license requirement.
6. After that, attach all the required documents with the application form and submit them to the Secretary of the Board.
7. Pay the required amount of fees as directed. Then, the officials will proceed to perform the internal processes with respect to the applicant’s request.
8. Initially, the attached documents and the application form will be checked for sufficiency and appropriateness.
9. If found sufficient, further necessary tasks will be accomplished by the concerned officials for the issuance of license.
10. Once all the tasks and processes are over, the applicant will be intimated to collect the license through email or phone number.
11. The processing time for this procedure is 7 days.

• Make sure that the applicants attach all the required documents as specified by the authority to avoid rejections.

• Name of company
• Location of the principal office
• Details of capital structure ( Nominal and Paid-up capital)
• Full names, addresses, and occupations of the directors
• Details of Branch Office(s) if any
• Name, Address, and Telephone of the Chief Executive.
• A statement listing the names of holding companies, associated companies, or partnerships in which the applicant has an interest.
• Names and addresses of two business referees.
• L.R. Number (title deed number)
• Milling capacity (in tonnage)
• License category (Estate / Co-operative Society)
• Milling category applying for (Grower-miller/ Commercial-miller)
• Declaration by the applicant

Need for the Document

• An export license is a license issued by the Board to allow the holder to take or cause to be taken out of Egypt sugar and its by-products.
• The licence is issued only for the specific consignment being exported.

• Milk dealers are required to obtain relevant licenses and permits from Kenya Dairy Board.
• Premises dealing with milk and milk products are first inspected to establish compliance to milk quality and safety requirements prior to licensing.
• Routine inspections are subsequently conducted to monitor continued compliance.
