ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Pharmaceutical Technologist License in person, the applicant has to approach the Egyptian Nursing Journal.

  3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
  4. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
  5. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
  6. The completed application form(s) together with the relevant documents indicated in the checklist or as listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page, should be submitted in person to the Pharmacy & Poisons Board, Registrar office, or via post.
  7. It should be noted: If any of the details contained in the Application Form should change after the document has been signed and submitted, the applicant will be obliged to submit an updated application form within 30 days, otherwise, the Licence will automatically become null and void.
  8. Upon submission of the application documents, the applicant shall pay a non-refundable application fee as stipulated below under the “Fees” section of this page or as may be prescribed by the Board. All payments should be made as per the Board's preferable payment mode.
  9. Upon receipt of the duly filled application forms and documents, the board will evaluate the application file and the applicant advised in writing on whether the application was successful or not.
  10. During the document evaluation phase, the Board may arrange an interview with the applicant (superintendent) by the Practice Committee of the Board.
  11. If the interview is successful, an inspection of the proposed company’s premises will be conducted by a pharmaceutical inspector to assess the suitability of the intended business. The inspection report will be presented in the prescribed inspection form.
  12. During the Inspection visit, any discrepancies will be brought to the attention of the applicant and corrective action must be taken before the facility is registered and licensed by the Board.
  13. Having considered all factors and matters relating to the application the Board will either;
    • Issue a certificate of registration of premises.
    • Advise the applicant in writing, in case of an unsuccessful application, and clearly state the reason the application was unsuccessful.
  14. In the case of an unsuccessful application, the applicant will be given further opportunities to revise and comply. Where the applicant is able to revise the application and comply with the requirements a license will be issued. otherwise, the premises shall remain unregistered and the file will be closed after about 06 months from the date of initial application.
  15. While collecting the registration documents i.e., pharmacy registration certificate and the practice license applicants will be required to produce their identity document an approval letter to be validated by the Registrar's office.
  16. The registration documents should be conspicuously displayed. The certificates (certificate for registration of premises, and annual practice license) expire on the 31st day of December in the year of issue.

  • Copies of academic certificate/s of superintendent pharmaceutical technologist (A copy of Diploma certificate in Pharmacy).
  • A Copy of Enrolment Certificate by Pharmacy & Poisons Board, Egypt, for the superintendent pharmaceutical technologist.
  • For sole proprietorship.
    • A copy of Certificate of registration of company name from the Registrar of companies, Attorney General’s office.
  • For partnerships
    • A Copy of Certificate of registration of company name from the Registrar of companies, Attorney General’s office.
    • An affidavit.
  • Superintendent pharmaceutical technologist’s resignation letter to last employer.
  • Letter of appointment of Superintendent Pharmaceutical technologist by the company applying for registration.
  • Two coloured passport size photographs.
  • Floor plan of Dispensary.
  • Floor plan of Dispensing Room.
  • Floor plan of Consultation room.

  • A pharmaceutical technologist can own the business as either
    • A sole proprietor
    • A partnership
  • The superintendent pharmaceutical technologist can only be joint owners with other qualified persons namely.
    • Registered pharmacists.
    • Enrolled pharmaceutical technologists.



FeesEdit

  • Annual practice license EGP.2500.00
  • Premises registration fee EGP.5000.00



ValidityEdit

  • The issued registration documents i.e. (Certificate for registration of premises and annual practice license) expire on the 31st day of December in the year of issue and, if not renewed, the registration shall become void.

InstructionsEdit

  • Applicant must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.
  • Applicant should follow all instructions provided by concerned authorities properly.
  • The application must be completed in full and be submitted to the Registrar, Nursing journal of Egypt within 30 days following the release of Licensing Examination results by the Council.
  • All applications must be accompanied with copies of National Identity Card [ID]/passport, Examination Result Slip and 2 colored passport size photographs. Upgrading applicants must also attach copies of previous certificates/qualifications, the original nursing practice license and the nursing practice license (retention) fee.
  • The license that will be issued to the nurse needs to be renewed in every three years.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • No person is allowed to engage in a retail pharmacist or chemistry business that is to be run by an enrolled Pharmaceutical Technologist unless he/ she holds valid registration documents i.e. premises registration certificate and a practicing license for a pharmacy, which are issued by the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate Department, Pharmacy, and Poisons Board office.
