Need for the DocumentEdit
Egypt being strategically positioned gives it a great advantage to import goods because of the vast water resources as the home of Lake Nasser and the mighty Nile river as well as the Suez canal. Egypt does not have a large industrial base and this leaves it with only alternative of importing almost all of their capital goods such as machinery and equipment. Even though Food represent about 20 percent of Egypt's imports, even the industrial chemicals, wood products and refined fuels are also imported in significant quantities.
