ProcedureEdit

Applying process in Bulgaria.

a. Apply In-Person
  1. PCC can be applied at the Regional Court where they are registered (under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice).
  2. Link for contact: Contact please follow the page for requirement.
  3. Application forms can be obtained from the respective office.
  4. Go to the respective office. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  5. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents.
  6. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  7. This application will be processed by respective department.
  8. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.


Applying process - overseas.

a. Apply at embassy or consulate
  1. Applicant can apply at their nearest embassy or consulate in person. Link to locate the embassy or consulate: Ministry Of foreign affairs
  2. Application form can be obtained from the embassy or consulate.
  3. Call the office and fix appointment for personal visit. Also find out the details for this procedure.
  4. On the scheduled date, go to the office with all the document in original and in copy. Please follow as per officer guidelines to process your application.
  5. This application will be processed by the respective department. The completed certificates are forwarded to the concern.
  6. Applicant shall collect the certificate with the respective office upon notification or can get it delivered as per norms applicable.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

  • For Local Bulgarian applicants: BGL 5 (approx. GBP £2)
  • Foreign nationals in Bulgaria: BGL 2 (approx. GBP £0.85)
  • Fee/charge varies for case to case. Updated fee requirement will be provided by respective authorities while applying.

InstructionsEdit

  • You need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence.

If you live in Bulgaria

  • You should apply in person for a Police Clearance Certificate at the Regional Court where you are registered.
  • The completed application form is to be accompanied by the following documents:
    • identity document
    • birth certificate
    • power of attorney or certificate of inheritor (when a certificate is requested for another person)
    • legal proof of name change, if applicable
  • Same or next business day service provided to most resident citizens who apply in person.

If you live outside Bulgaria

  • You may apply at the Bulgarian embassy responsible for your country of residence. You may also authorize a representative in Bulgaria, with a power of attorney or a certificate of inheritor, to apply for and receive a Police Clearance Certificate on your behalf.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

It is the applicants responsibility to contact the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary police certificates or clearances. Each countrys procedures are different. Applicants may have to apply to more than one level of government or more than one agency - municipal, provincial, state, federal and the police, courts or similar governmental agencies for the police certificate. If a police certificate cannot be obtained from any of the countries on the list, provide a written explanation why and an original letter from the police authority confirming that it will not issue a certificate.

E-conviction certificate is valid for six months and has the same value as the certificate of conviction issued in writing, but only in electronic form and content available on the website of the Ministry of Justice, through the access code that is provided to the person to whom it relates.

Identification of the person, the electronic certificate of conviction contains PIN three names in Bulgarian and English language ID.



Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

A police clearance certificate is a copy of your criminal record or a declaration of the absence of any criminal record. Police clearance certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, pcc, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration to prevent individuals who possess a risk to Country's security from entering the country.

In many immigration cases you may be requested by relevant Government to present Police Clearance Certificate from another country where you have resided for some time. If you are going through immigration process, you will definitely be asked for such a certificate.
